Pokljuka is a forested high karst plateau in the Julian Alps. It is the largest rounded forest area in the Triglav National Park. It is 20 km long and almost as wide. In the range from 1000 to 1400 m there are about 6300 ha of forests in which spruce predominates. The varied surface of hidden abysses, overgrown sinkholes and valleys is a remnant of the Pokljuka glacier. Behind the glacier stayed the Pokljuka marshes and swampy, difficult-to-cross forest areas. Marshes are among the southernmost high marshes in Europe.

Cycling suitable for everyone with good physical condition. Mountain bikes with wide-profile tires (at least front suspension) are preferred, cycling helmet and other protective equipment, gloves, sunglasses and cream, spare inner tube, suitable clothing (waterproof thin jacket, spare dry clothing, etc.), food and drink from the backpack.

The cycling trip is carried out with the participation of at least 5 applicants.

The participant rides at his own risk and is obliged to follow the instructions of the cycling tour leader. By registering, the participant confirms that he is aware of the complexity of the cycling trip, and that he meets the health and physical conditions for safe participation. In case of bad weather we will postpone the trip. Welcome to this wonderful open-air museum. 😉

Welcome to this beautiful green outdoor oasis. Enjoy a cycling tour with experienced, friendly and professional English speaking cycling guide. Essentially, we want you to get to know new places with us and have a great time.

We will start our cycling tour to the Pokljuka at Rudno Polje (1347 m). Then the path will lead us along the macadam roads towards Uskovnica (1154 m), where we will have our first break and coffee. Of course, we will also take a few minutes to photograph the nature, which is really beautiful here.

Then we will cycle towards Planina Zajamniki (1293 m), which is located on the extreme southern edge of the Pokljuka plateau. This is a truly beautiful plateau that takes the breath away of those who see it for the first time and fills with energy everyone who appears there. We will make a stop here for ½ hour and take some memorable photos.

From here we will cycle through the forest along well-maintained cart tracks to the Šport Hotel (1269 m) in Pokljuka, where we will stop for an hour and a half. Here we will treat ourselves to a well-deserved lunch.

Then we will cycle towards our last plateau on Pokljuka –Planina Javorniki. Here we will take the last short break for photos, relaxation and reflection on how beautiful our Slovenia is. From here, we will cycle through the forest towards our final point – Rudno polje.
